A Message from Management
Although we tried our best to keep the course open longer, the day of reckoning came on Wednesday, November 7th. As the last foursome came off the course, snow was in the air and as one member said “I’d rather be walking in the elements with my clubs than walking the dog”. Final numbers are not in but it looks like we processed close to 30,000 rounds of golf this year and member rounds were up approximately 6,000 over last year. A great season at Cedarhill and let’s hope we enjoy more of the same in 2008.
We mentioned to the membership in our last communication that “Draft Plan” approval had been received by ownership for the sub division and golf course expansion. This “Draft Plan” has now successfully gone through the required appeal period and our architect has been directed to move forward with the final drawings for the four hole expansion. Once these are completed, a site plan application will be drafted and submitted which will then lead to the necessary permits to begin construction on the four new holes. We are in hopes that these four new holes will be open for play at the beginning of the 2009 season and will keep you advised as matters progress.
The end of the golf season does not mean the end of activities at Cedarhill for the balance of 2007 and into the early part of 2008. We have many events on the go and invite all of you to take part in one or more of the following offerings:
Sunday Brunch
Our popular Sunday Brunch offering is now underway. Seatings are at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and our Chef Nathalie always has something different for you. Phone or e-mail us for individual or group reservations.
Christmas Dinner Dance
Mark down Saturday, December 8th for our annual Christmas get together. Members and their guests are invited to an evening of dining and dancing and maybe some carolling. Seating is limited to 50 so reserve early.
New Year's Eve
Always a sell-out and this year should be no exception. Complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will greet you at the door followed by a spectacular five course meal followed by dancing to the music of “Sounds Great”. Champagne follows at midnight and then treat yourself to a midnight buffet. Reserve early as unsold tickets are offered to the public after December 1st.
Member's Night at the Slots
Wednesday, January 23rd, hop on the bus for a night at Rideau Carleton Raceway Slots. The evening begins with complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the club followed by a buffet dinner at Rideau Carleton. Space is limited so reserve early.
Friday Night Table d'Hote
Frank and Nathalie are putting their heads together to provide membership with something entirely new at Cedarhill. Beginning Friday, January 11th and every Friday through March, we will be offering a dinner menu at Cedarhill. The lounge/restaurant will be open from 6:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m. and we’re certain there will always be something on the menu which suits your desires. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Watch for further information.
Super Bowl Sunday
Join us on Sunday, February 3rd for an afternoon and evening of Football “American Style”. Full restaurant service will be available and you’re invited to watch the game on our giant screen brought in especially for the day. Watch for further details.
Your membership at Cedarhill is more than just a golf membership. It’s an invitation to many exciting events and an opportunity to meet and greet other members of the club in a social setting. We appreciate and thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events.
