Club Charge Facilities
In July of 2005, we were advised by TD Visa that they would be phasing out their “Purchase Manager” card, our house charge card system, by December 31, 2005. We are aware some of our members have actually received renewal cards over the course of the past few months. A call to Visa has confirmed these cards were discontinued as of December 31st and they extend their apologies for any confusion caused.
We are in the process of installing a new point of sale system at the club. At your option, this new system will allow for a seamless electronic interface between your personal credit card and any house charge through the club. All you are required to do is lodge your credit card number with the office at the beginning of the season. Once in place, you will have the option of personally closing out your bill at the end of the day and obtain your relative receipt. In the event you fail to close out the bill, the club will automatically close the bill on your behalf applying the relevant taxes and, in the case of food and beverage purchases, a 15% gratuity. We are also looking to extend this service to our on course cart facility.
Club Membership
The club continues to experience good growth in membership levels. As at December 31, 2005, our membership roll stood at 355, this number including all components of the membership with the exception of our Juniors. We are encouraged by the number of Couple and One-Day-A-Week female memberships sold over the course of the past year. Pick up any golf magazine and you will read that the future of golf in North America lies in the ability of the game to attract female and junior members. We are growing on both accounts. For the 2006 season, Cedarhill will be offering a referral fee in the form of Cedar$’s to members who bring newly initiated members into the club. Cedar$’s are non-cash credits which can be used at the club. In addition, there are and will be a number of incentive programs offered throughout the 2006 season in various membership categories. Please check with the office or the pro shop for details on our current membership programs.
Membership Renewals
Approximately 30% of the membership elected to take us up on the offer of an 8% discount on memberships paid in full prior to November 25, 2005. On average, a member was able to save $160.00 on the cost of their 2006 membership. For those of you who have not yet renewed for 2006, please keep in mind your annual dues are payable in installments of 50% by January 6, 2006 with the remaining 50% due by March 10th 2006.
Unpaid memberships carry an interest penalty of 2% monthly.
